How do allergies influence nutrition and recommendations of meals for people with allergies?

It is recommended that people eat a variety of food such as dairy, fruits, vegetables, meats, and other different types of foods. However, some people face allergies. So, what are allergies and what can it do to someone if they have allergic reactions and/or attacks? According to the English Dictionary, allergies are referred to: “a reaction your body has to a particular food or substance.” Typically in food, the most common allergies that people may have includes nuts, peanuts, milk, oats, and soy, but there are many more different allergies that people may have.

Does having an allergy impact nutrition?

Allergies do influence the way that some people do eat because they are restricted to eat a meal due to the fact that an ingredient could cause an allergic reaction and/or attack. This makes meals and different food options limited if you have a certain allergy.

When purchasing ingredients, you would have to look at the nutritional information label to check the content of the ingredient to see if the item where you have an allergy e.g. if you are allergic to nuts, you would look out for nuts in the label to determine if that food item is safe to use and consume.

In different cafes, restaurants, and food places, they are required to say to a customer if they have any form of allergies so that they are required to follow instructions and so allergies do have effects on eating certain types of foods.

In the picture you can see under the nutrition information there is the ingredients list and the bold text at the bottom tells the allergy which is tree nuts in this instance. If someone has a tree nut allergy, they should AVOID THIS FOOD as consuming this can cause an allergic reaction and/or attack and may need hospitalization.
